Walk & Roll to School Day
Wednesday, May 6 is Walk & Roll to School Day! Meet up with other Bellevue families in the morning and head to school by foot or on wheels. Meet us at the pocket park between Jefferson, Clay, and 23rd Streets at 7:15 am. And – new this year – we'll have some city bikes available for parents to use at our meet up location. Just bring your helmet and return the bike to the same location after you've dropped your kiddo off at school! What a fun way to start the day!
Richmond Kickers Fundraiser for Bellevue
Up the Roos! Mark your calendars because this is a fun night for the whole family! Watch your Richmond Kickers play Charleston Battery on May 1st at City Stadium. Bonus? $8 of every ticket sold via this link will directly benefit Bellevue! The match starts at 7PM and gates open 60 minutes before kickoff.

Ready, Tech, Go!
Technology is a permanent part of our children's daily lives- but it doesn't have to be overwhelming! Join us for an evening of connection and practical tips for building a healthy digital balance at home. The Chimborazo and Bellevue PTAs invite you to a special workshop: Ready, Tech, Go! presented by Richmond Public Schools' EdTech Integrator Team and supported by a generous grant from AT&T.
This event is designed specifically for families from Chimborazo, Bellevue, and Henry Marsh Elementary Schools. Our goal is to provide a space where we can learn practical, stress-free ways to foster healthy digital habits from the start.

7:00 PM: Grab and Go Dinner and Raffle
Prizes & Support: We will have door prizes for attendees, and childcare/transportation are available if you request them in your RSVP.
As we learn together, we also want to give back to our schools. The class at each elementary school with the highest attendance rate will win a class set of headphones for their teacher!

Field Day
Field Day is on Friday, April 17!
Relay Events and Games for Grades K-2: 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Relay Events and Games for Grades 3-4: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Students should wear their House tees or color (Afi: red, Largo: blue, Kuchonga: green, Jinshu: yellow), play clothes (shorts or pants), and tennis shoes (no sandals, flip-flops, or crocs). Hats are welcome!
Students will walk with teachers and staff from Bellevue to the Chimborazo Park Playground. Parents and guardians are welcome but they MUST sign in at the front office of the school and receive their guest badge before meeting at the Chimborazo Park Playground.
For safety reasons, adults must remain with Bellevue Elementary staff at all times. Early dismissal from the playground is not permitted. To pick up your child early, please return to the school and follow the proper sign out procedure at the main office.
Spring Garden Clean Up
Join us after school on April 16th for our Spring Garden Clean Up. We’ll be digging in and getting our garden ready for summer. Tasks include raking leaves, weeding, planting, and mulching. All are welcome!
Church Hill Irish Festival
The Church Hill Irish Festival is a fun-filled, family-friendly weekend event that takes place at the intersection of 25th and Broad Streets. A portion of the sales from the Festival are generously donated to the Bellevue PTA, so we make sure to help the organizers by volunteering at the event. Feel free to sign up for a time slot or two (list Bellevue PTA as your affiliation) and join in on the weekend fun!

STEAM NIght
Get ready for an evening of fun! Join us on Thursday, March 19th from 5-6:30 pm for our annual STEAM Night! The school will be buzzing with energy as we explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math at interactive stations in the cafeteria.
Lucky You Dance
The PTA is sponsoring the Lucky You Dance for Bellevue students. This special event gives our kids a chance to hit the dance floor and celebrate all their accomplishments this school year.
Please sign up to volunteer during the dance or donate an item for our dragons to enjoy during the dance! All donations can be dropped any day leading up to March 17th in the front office. Thank you for your support!
Black History Program and Literacy Night
Come join us in celebrating literacy by jumping into the learning process for kindergarten through 2nd grade, supporting 3rd grade poetry open mic, and enjoying a music concert by 4th and 5th graders. (And we all know that Mr. Beekman’s concerts are a must-see!)
Our celebration highlights how literacy has long been a pathway to voice, opportunity, and freedom. Through reading, writing, and storytelling, we honor Black history while empowering our students to understand the past and shape their future.
This is a great night to support all students at Bellevue and celebrate Black history month. Doors open at 5:15 pm, and the program starts at 5:30 pm.
100th Day of School
We’re celebrating the 100th day of school for our Dragons! Here are some ways you can participate:
• Wear a shirt decorated with 100 items
• Dress up like a 100 year old man or woman
• Wear a necklace with 100 beads
• Bring in 100 items (items must fit into a small plastic bag)
But, most importantly, show up for school and enjoy your accomplishments this school year! We’re proud of you!

Winter Concert
Come support our second and third graders as they proudly present their winter concert, Narbert The Narwhal’s North Pole Neighbors: An Arctic Adventure for Young Voices. Mr. Beekman’s school concerts are always a treat and this one will be a festive way to kick off the winter season! Free hot cocoa (and toppings!) will be served by the PTA following the concert.
Middle School Information Night
Calling all current 5th graders and their parents and guardians! Join us for Middle School Information Night on November 20th at 5pm. Learn about open enrollment, specialty applications, and private school options. Plus, you’ll hear from former Bellevue students now in middle school during our Q&A panel!
Fall Garden Clean Up
Join us after school on November 20th for our Fall Garden Clean Up and Bulb Planting. We’ll be digging in and getting our garden ready for winter. Tasks include raking leaves, planting bulbs, weeding, and mulching a small area. If you can, bring a pumpkin and participate in the Great Pumpkin Smash! All are welcome!
Bellevue Night at Pizza Bones
Our neighbors over at Pizza Bones are hosting a benefit night. 10% of all restaurant sales from 4pm to 9pm will be donated to the Bellevue PTA! Tell your friends and family, and enjoy a fantastic meal while supporting our dragons!
Bellevue Harvest Festival
Celebrate the Fall season with our annual Harvest Fest! Bellevue's family-friendly event will feature games & crafts, treats & prizes, a bounce house, a cake walk, a spider web maze, trunk or treat fun, a scavenger hunt, concessions for sale, and more! This event is open to everyone and costumes are encouraged. This event will take place at Bellevue on Thursday, October 30th at 5:30 pm. See you there!
Blue Sky Fund’s Walk for Kids
On October 25th, Blue Sky is holding their 2025 Hike for Kids. Hike for Kids is Blue Sky Fund's annual fall fundraiser that brings over 250 hikers together to hit the trails of one of Richmond’s most popular attractions, the James River Park System, for a 3, 7, or 14 mile hike. Together, we raise funds and awareness of our outdoor education programs. The hike ends with a party at the War Memorial with food, drinks, music, and a virtual auction. Learn more at Blue Sky Fund.

RVA East End Festival
The RVA East End Festival, a celebration of music and the arts supporting East End Richmond Public Schools, is a free family event for the entire RVA community. Since 2016, the RVA East End Festival has raised over $550,000 to support music, visual arts, and performing arts programs at eight elementary, middle and high schools. The event will feature performances by local professionals including members of the Richmond Symphony, as well as some of RVA’s most talented youth musicians, dancers and visual artists.

Church Hill unites! Meet and socialize with families from Bellevue, Chimborazo, and Henry L. Marsh Elementary Schools. Local organizations will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Be sure to stop by the PTA table and say hi!
Back to School Night
Head back to school to meet your child’s teachers and get the scoop on how they spend their day. The event starts with a presentation by Bellevue's Principal and Assistant Principal, followed by a brief PTA update. Families will then be able to meet their child's teacher, visit their classroom, check out the Encore rooms, and receive information from local businesses and organizations. The PTA will be providing dinner for our families. Be sure to grab some free slices of pizza!
Open House
The first day of school is just around the corner! Join us for an Open House for all students on August 14th from 4pm-6pm. New student and kindergarten orientation will begin at 4pm. This is a great way for all students to meet their teachers, find their classroom, and drop off their school supplies. Let’s gear up for a great school year!
